Corporate Fundraisers – Have you heard of Adtruism?

Adtruism allows companies to effortlessly raise money for charities through their own website.  Its a simple but excellent idea.  Basically a company chooses a cause they would like to support, then they put an Adtruism Icon on their website.  Third party advertisements are then run through that icon with all of the proceeds going to the nominated charity.

Adtruism is a non profit organisation so the operational costs are nominal.  I recently met with the founder Brian McCormick who came up with the idea while studying for his Law degree in UCD.  Yes, he’s about 22 and he’s already put together this fantastic company in his spare time.  If that doesn’t make you question what you did with your youth I don’t know what will.

Adtruism have recently signed a deal with broadsheet.ie who are currently hosting one of the icons for Pieta House, log on to their site to see it in action.  I think all it will take is one or two more large website based companies to latch onto the idea before it takes on a life of its own.  It’s a great way for companies to increase the support they give to charities.

If you would like to find out more visit the Adtruism website.
