Suspended Coffee

I saw this idea spreading around Facebook the other day and now I am delighted to see someone has started it in Ireland. Its a great (albeit small) way of supporting the homeless in Ireland, especially during the severe cold snap we have been having lately.

The idea started in Naples. When you are buying a coffee in a shop, ask for a second coffee which is “suspended”. This means that the second coffee is paid for and on reserve for someone less fortunate who is looking for a hot drink.

I’ve taken this list of participating shops from the Suspended Coffee Ireland Facebook page:

In Cork we have @idahoCafe starting this morning
Behind Brown Thomas Cork City!

In Athlone, we have Cafe Deli!

In Carlow we have The Tea rooms at Duckett’s Grove

In Dublin we have Chip in Brioche Cafe, Aungier St, Caffe’ Italiano in Temple bar, and @SoulfulBistro Manor Street

Click here to get onto their Facebook page.  Please share this idea to get the word out.
